Cipladine
Ointment is an anti-septic ointment which is used as a first aid to
manage infection in minor wounds, cuts, scrapes, burns and abrasions. It
can be used for pre and post operative skin disinfection, while
performing wound dressings and during management of decubitus ulcers
(pressure sores). It contains povidone iodine as an active ingredient to
manage infection of the wound.
Povidone iodine is a
broad-spectrum antiseptic which penetrates microbe and oxidizes
proteins, nucleotides and fatty acids which causes death of the microbe.
It is effective against wide range of infection causing microbes such
as bacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses.
Always use Cipladine
Ointment as advised by the doctor. It is for external use only. Clean
and dry the affected area before application. Apply a small amount of
ointment over the affected area as directed by the doctor. It may be
covered with a sterile bandage. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous
membrane. Do not use Cipladine ointment if you are allergic to any of
