USES OF ALASTIN 10MG TABLET
It is used to relieve from symptoms associated with:
- Allergic rhinitis (Ex. hay fever) including sneezing, runny or itchy nose and burning or itchy eyes
- Urticaria (hives or nettle rash)
HOW ALASTIN 10MG TABLET WORKS
ALASTIN
10MG TABLET reduces the allergic reaction by blocking the effects of
histamine (a chemical substance produced by the body in response to some
allergens like dust or pollen).
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take
ALASTIN 10MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow this
medicine, do not crush or chew the medicine. Correct dosage and duration
will be decided by your doctor depending upon your age, body weight and
disease condition.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ALASTIN 10MG TABLET
COMMON
- drowsiness
- headache
- increased appetite
- difficulty in sleeping
- headache, nervousness and tiredness (in children)
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Drowsiness:
When
you feel drowsy, lie or sit down immediately. if you are experiencing a
severe episode of vertigo, lie in a dark and quite place with eyes
closed. Vehicle driving should be avoided if you experience frequent
drowsiness without warning. Talk to your doctor if the symptom worsens.
Headache:
Apply
hot or cold-water bag on your head. Try to take rest in a quiet and
dark environment. Drink tea or coffee. Massage with mild pressure on
scalp or head. Consult your doctor for advice.
Dry mouth:
Dry
mouth can be managed by chewing sugar-free gum or sucking on sugar-free
hard candies to stimulate the flow of saliva. Sip water at regular
intervals of time. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because
they can be drying.

ALASTIN 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Consult your doctor for advice before taking the medicine.
BREASTFEEDING
ALASTIN
10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may
pass through the breastmilk to the baby. Consult your doctor for advice
before taking ALASTIN 10MG TABLET.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do
not drive or operate any machines if you feel drowsy after taking
ALASTIN 10MG TABLET. Consult your doctor before taking ALASTIN 10MG
TABLET.
KIDNEY
ALASTIN
10MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients having kidney
problems. Consult your doctor before taking ALASTIN 10MG TABLET.
LIVER
ALASTIN
10MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients having liver
disease. Consult your doctor before taking ALASTIN 10MG TABLET.
ALLERGY
Do not take ALASTIN 10MG TABLET if you are allergic to Loratadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
OTHERS
Before taking ALASTIN 10MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have to undergo any skin tests for allergies
- have intolerance to some sugars like lactose
Use in Pediatrics:
ALASTIN
10MG TABLET is not recommended for children below 6 years of age. Your
doctor will prescribe the right dose depends on your child’s age, body
weight and disease condition. Consult your doctor before taking ALASTIN
10MG TABLET.
Use in Geriatrics:
ALASTIN
10MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients above 65
years of age. Before taking ALASTIN 10MG TABLET, consult your doctor.
