INTRODUCTION
ARKAMIN H 20MG contains Clonidine which belongs to a group of medicines called antihypertensives. It is used to lower high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a condition in where the force of the blood against artery walls is high which may lead to many cardiovascular diseases. It is determined both by the amount of blood your heart pumps and the amount of resistance to blood flow in your arteries.
Clonidine stimulates alpha-adrenoreceptors in the brain stem which reduces sympathetic outflow from the central nervous system resulting in decrease in peripheral resistance, renal vascular resistance, heart rate, and blood pressure. It also activates Imidazoline receptors which also causes decreased sympathetic outflow and fall in blood pressure. Before taking this ARKAMIN H 20MG, tell your doctor know if you are suffering from any kidney or liver disease, pregnant or breastfeeding. Take this medicine as instructed by the doctor and should never stop it without consulting the doctor. It is not recommended in children. The common side effects are dizziness, drowsiness and constipation.

HOW ARKAMIN H 20MG WORKS
ARKAMIN H 20MG works by relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take this ARKAMIN H 20MG according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break the medicine. It can be taken with or without food.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Headache:
Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Do not drink too much alcohol.
Drowsiness or dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.
Feeling sick (nausea) or indigestion:
Stick to simple normal meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.
Constipation:
Add fruits, vegetables whole grains and other high-fiber foods to your normal diet.
Vomiting:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks. Eat light, bland foods and avoid fried, greasy, or sweet foods.

BREASTFEEDING
ARKAMIN H 20MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or disturbances of vision.
ALCOHOL
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during management with ARKAMIN H 20MG.
KIDNEY
ARKAMIN H 20MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
ARKAMIN H 20MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take ARKAMIN H 20MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Clonidine or any ingredients of this medicine.
HEART DISEASE
ARKAMIN H 20MG is not recommended in patients with active heart diseases. Before taking, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
OTHERS
Tell your doctor if you had or have a condition such as:
