What EXPAVON is used for?

It is used to restore the blood volume when you have lost blood when other products called crystalloids are not considered sufficient alone
Talk to your Doctor, if you:
- are allergic to Hydroxyethyl starch or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have kidney impairment or receive dialysis
- suffer from bleeding in the brain (intracranial or cerebral bleeding)
- are dehydrated
- have severely impaired liver function
- have severe heart failure
- have severe problems with your blood clotting
- have received an organ transplant
- have problems with your heart or circulation
- have blood clotting (coagulation) disorders
- have problems with your kidneys
- plan for surgery and trauma
- have problems with your lungs or with your heart or circulation
- are undergoing open heart surgery
