INTRODUCTION ABOUT PAUSE MF TABLET
PAUSE MF TABLET contains a combination of Mefenamic acid and Tranexamic acid, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and antifibrinolytics. It helps to stop/arrest bleeding and relieve pain and swelling from various parts of the body. It is used to manage, control and manage heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia) and menstrual pain, bleeding from the nose or eyes, following a tooth extraction, prostate surgery etc.
Tranexamic acid works by managing the breakdown of blood clots by blocking the interaction of plasminogen with fibrin. Mefenamic acid works by managing the release of a chemical messenger called prostaglandin by inhibiting an enzyme called cyclooxygenase that causes fever, pain and inflammation in the body (redness and swelling). Your doctor may suggest you take relevant medical tests to understand your existing condition.
PAUSE MF TABLET is not recommended for use if you have severe kidney disease or failure, blood clots (thrombosis), abnormal body movements such as fits or seizures, an abnormal or excessive bleeding disorder (consumptive coagulopathy), etc. PAUSE MF TABLET should be used with caution. Inform your doctor if you have blood in the urine, uncontrolled bleeding, blood clots throughout your body, irregular menstruation, mild to moderate kidney or liver disease, angioneurotic oedema (HANO), etc.
PAUSE MF TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women and nursing mothers and only if prescribed by a doctor. The most common side effects of PAUSE MF TABLET are feeling sick, vomiting, having a headache, having an abnormal heartbeat, having changes in blood pressure, having difficulty urinating, having urine leaks, etc. Contact your doctor if the symptoms worsen.
USES OF PAUSE MF TABLET
- To manage, control and manage bleeding and pain in conditions such as heavy menstrual bleeding (Menorrhagia), Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB), tooth removal, nose bleeds etc.
HOW PAUSE MF TABLET WORKS
Tranexamic acid works by managing the breakdown of blood clots by blocking the interaction of plasminogen with fibrin. DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take PAUSE MF TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, frequency and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
SIDE EFFECTS OF PAUSE MF TABLET
COMMON
- feeling sick
- vomiting
- heartburn
- ingestion
- stomach pain or discomfort
- loose stools
- nose block
- tiredness
- muscle or joint pain
- pain or swelling of the sinus
- low red blood cells (anaemia)
RARE
Stop taking PAUSE MF TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, severe itching of the skin with raised lumps, blisters in the skin, swelling of the face, lips, tongue and/or throat with difficulty in breathing or swallowing).
- chest pain or heaviness in the chest
- difficulty in breathing
- coughing up blood
- fainting
- pain or swelling of the legs or arms
- impaired or blurring of vision
- bleeding in the eyes
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea (feeling sick) or vomiting:
Take PAUSE MF TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food.
Headache:
Take rest and get adequate sleep and stay hydrated. Consult your doctor immediately if the symptoms persist or worsen.
Diarrhea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Consult your doctor immediately if the symptom did not improve.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
PAUSE MF TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women, only if recommended by your doctor. Consult your doctor before taking it.
BREASTFEEDING
PAUSE MF TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding mothers, only if recommended by your doctor. Consult your doctor before taking it.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines. If you are experiencing improper vision, dizziness etc.
ALCOHOL
Avoid consuming alcohol while using PAUSE MF TABLET, as it may worsen your existing condition and increases the risk of bleeding in the stomach. Consult your doctor before taking it.
KIDNEY
PAUSE MF TABLET is not recommended for use if are having severe kidney disease such as kidney failure etc. Consult your doctor before taking it.
LIVER
PAUSE MF TABLET should be used with caution if you are having liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.
ALLERGY
Do not take PAUSE MF TABLET if you are allergic to Tranexamic acid and Mefenamic acid.
OTHERS
PAUSE MF TABLET is not recommended for use if you have:
- thrombosis – blood clot or blockage in blood vessels
- fits or seizure
- excessive bleeding disorder such as consumption coagulopathy (DIC)
Before taking PAUSE MF TABLET, inform your physician if you have:
- blood in the urine
- uncontrolled bleeding
- irregular menstrual period
- angioneurotic oedema (HANO)
