Potrate-MB6 Oral Solution Orange is a combination of three medicines. It is used in the treatment and prevention of kidney stones. It works by preventing the formation as well as breaking down the crystals in the kidneys.

Potrate-MB6 Oral Solution Orange may be prescribed alone or in combination with other medicines. It should be taken with food. Measure the solution and dilute it in a glass of water before taking it. Take it regularly and do not take more or use it for a longer duration than recommended by your doctor. You should not stop taking the medicine until your doctor tells you it is okay to stop.

Using this medicine may cause a few common side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and stomach pain. If you experienced any such side effect that does not resolve with time or get worse, you should let your doctor know. Your doctor may be able to suggest ways of preventing or reducing them.

Vitamin B6 present in Potrate-MB6 Oral Solution Orange further inhibits kidney stone formation. Your doctor may direct you to eat a low-salt (low-sodium) diet, drink lots of fluids and eat citrus fruits like oranges, lemons etc. Also limit the intake of salt, sugar, animal protein, and foods rich in oxalate such as spinach, almonds, peanuts etc.

How Potrate-MB6 Oral Solution works

Potrate-MB6 Oral Solution Orange is a combination of three medicines: Potassium Citrate, Magnesium Citrate and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) which prevent kidney stones. Potassium Citrate and Magnesium Citrate raise urine pH and prevents the formation, growth and aggregation of crystals in the kidneys, thereby preventing stones. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) is added as its deficiency is associated with increased synthesis of oxalate, which is one of the constituents of kidney stones.
