INTRODUCTION ABOUT ROSUFIT 10 TABLET
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET is used in the management of high blood cholesterol levels. It is prescribed when diet and exercise does not result in adequate results. It contains a medicine called Rosuvastatin which is an anti-hyperlipidemic agent that works by blocking cholesterol production in the body. It also makes your body eliminate lipids particles from the blood.
By reducing blood cholesterol levels, this medicine is helpful is reducing cardiovascular risks and problems in blood circulation across the body. While taking ROSUFIT 10 TABLET, you must follow a cholesterol-lowering diet, lifestyle changes and regular physical activity as instructed by your doctor to achieve better results.
Before taking ROSUFIT 10 TABLET inform your doctor if you have any lung, liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, thyroid problems, or a family history of muscle disorders. Do not take ROSUFIT 10 TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor.
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET may increase your blood sugar levels, especially in patients who are diabetic. It may also affect the way your liver works and so your doctor will closely monitor your blood sugar levels and liver functions while undergoing therapy with ROSUFIT 10 TABLET as a precaution.
The most common side effects of taking ROSUFIT 10 TABLET are muscle ache, constipation, stomach pain, dizziness, nausea and headache. Inform your doctor if you experience severe unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness along with fever after taking ROSUFIT 10 TABLET.
USES OF ROSUFIT 10 TABLET
It is used to:
- manage high blood cholesterol levels
- manage the risk of heart attack or stroke
HOW ROSUFIT 10 TABLET WORKS
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET is a lipid lowering medicine. It effectively reduces the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides in the body by blocking the action of an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase that synthesizes cholesterol within the body. It also acts on the liver and improve the body’s ability to remove lipid particles from the blood. As a result, it reduces blood cholesterol levels and manage its associated risks.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
- Take ROSUFIT 10 TABLET as advised by your physician
- Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
- ROSUFIT 10 TABLET can be taken with or without meals
SIDE EFFECTS OF ROSUFIT 10 TABLET
Common side effects of ROSUFIT 10 TABLET:
- headache
- dizziness
- stomach pain
- constipation
- nausea
- muscle pain
- tiredness
- diabetes
- protein loss in urine
- itching, rash or other skin reactions
Stop taking ROSUFIT 10 TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- signs of allergic reaction (such as difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, problems in swallowing, severe itching of the skin with raised lumps)
- severe skin reactions (such as skin allergy involving severe itching with raised lumps, reddish non-elevated, target-like or circular patches on the body, with central blisters, skin peeling, ulcers of mouth, throat, nose, genitals and eyes)
- widespread rash, fever and enlarged lymph nodes
- unexplained muscle pain or weakness, especially if accompanied by fever, weakness, or reddish-brown urine
- severe skin rash with joint disorders and changes in blood counts (lupus-like disease syndrome)
- liver problems which may lead to yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice)
- pancreatitis characterized by severe pain in the abdomen and back

PREGNANCY

ROSUFIT 10 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it. Women of childbearing age must use a reliable contraceptive method to avoid pregnancy while undergoing therapy. However, if you accidentally become pregnant while taking this medicine, stop taking it and consult your doctor immediately.
BREASTFEEDING
Contraindicated
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Use with Caution
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you feel dizzy or sleepy after taking ROSUFIT 10 TABLET.
ALCOHOL

ROSUFIT 10 TABLET should be used with caution in patients who consume large amounts of alcohol. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine to achieve maximum benefits.
KIDNEY
Consult your doctor
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with moderate to severe kidney diseases. It should be used with caution in patients with other mild kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
LIVER

ROSUFIT 10 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver diseases. It should be used with caution in patients with other liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
ALLERGY
Contraindicated
Do not take ROSUFIT 10 TABLET if you are allergic to Rosuvastatin or any other ingredients of this medicine.
LUNGS
Use with Caution
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET should be used with caution in patients with lung diseases (such as severe respiratory failure). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
HEART DISEASE
Use with Caution
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
USE IN PEDIATRICS

ROSUFIT 10 TABLET is not recommended for use in children aged below 6 years. It should be used in children and adolescents (aged above 6 years) only if prescribed by the physician. Your doctor will decide the correct dose depending on your child’s age, body weight and health condition. However, higher doses of rosuvastatin (40 mg or above) are generally restricted for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years).
USE IN GERIATRICS
Use with Caution
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 70 years or older). Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before taking it.
OTHERS
ROSUFIT 10 TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- have an unexplained muscle pain
- have improper functioning of thyroid gland
Before taking ROSUFIT 10 TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have problems in thyroid gland
- have personal or family history of muscle problems
- are alcoholic
- have diabetes
- are overweight
INTERACTIONS
A. Drug-Drug Interactions:
Before taking ROSUFIT 10 TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:
- Immunosuppressants (Ex. Cyclosporin)
- Fibrates (Ex. Gemfibrozil, fenofibrate, ezetimibe)
- Antibiotics (Ex. Fusidic acid, Erythromycin)
- Blood thinners (Ex. Warfarin, Ticagrelor or Clopidogrel)
- Oral contraceptives (Ex. Levonorgestrel)
- Kinase inhibitors. (Ex. Regorafenib, Darolutamide)
- Hormone replacement therapy (Ex. Dydrogesterone, Estradiol)
- Anti-viral agents (Ex. Ritonavir, lopinavir, atazanavir, sofosbuvir, voxilaprevir, simeprevir, ombitasvir, elbasvir, glecaprevir, pibrentasvir, paritaprevir, dasabuvir, velates, grazoprevir)
- H2 blockers (Ex. Cimetidine)
- Antacids (Ex. Aluminium hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide)
