Introduction About TINIBA 500MG TABLET
TINIBA 500MG TABLET is used in the management of post-operative infections caused by anaerobic bacteria, especially those associated with colonic, gastrointestinal and gynecological surgery. It is also used to manage intraperitoneal infections, gynecological infections, bacterial septicemia, post-operative wound infections, skin and soft tissue infections, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, non-specific vaginitis, acute ulcerative gingivitis, urogenital trichomoniasis in both male and female patients, giardiasis, intestinal amebiasis, amebic involvement of the liver. It contains Tinidazole which belongs to the group of medicines known as Anti-protozoals. It works against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa is believed to involve the penetration of the medicine into the cell of the microorganism and subsequent damage of DNA strands or inhibition of their synthesis.
TINIBA 500MG TABLET is not recommended for patients with organic neurological disorders and blood dyscrasias. TINIBA 500MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. It is not recommended for patients with first trimester in pregnancy. TINIBA 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding mother.
There is no proper data available for the use of TINIBA 500MG TABLET in children and adolescents below 12 years of age. The most common side effect of taking TINIBA 500MG TABLET are decreased appetite, headache, vertigo, vomiting, diarrhoea, nausea or abdominal pain. How TINIBA 500MG TABLET Works
TINIBA 500MG TABLET contains Tinidazole which is a 5-nitroimidazole derivative of the substituted imidazole compounds and possesses antimicrobial activity against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. The mode of action of tinidazole against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa is believed to involve the penetration of the drug into the cell of the microorganism and subsequent damage of DNA strands or inhibition of their synthesis.
How to use TINIBA 500MG TABLET
Take TINIBA 500MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow this medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It is recommended that TINIBA 500MG TABLET should be taken during or after a meal. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of TINIBA 500MG TABLET for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects
Diarrhea
Drink lot of fluids such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own to manage without consulting your doctor.
Dizziness Or Drowsiness
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume too much of alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Nausea And Vomiting
Take TINIBA 500MG TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals. Consult your doctor if your symptom does not improve.
Stomach Pain
Try to rest and relax. Try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, consult your doctor.

Pregnancy
Contraindicated
The use of TINIBA 500MG TABLET during the first trimester is contraindicated. There is no evidence that the medicine is harmful during the latter stages of pregnancy, but its use during the second and third trimesters requires that the potential benefits be weighed against the possible hazards to the mother or fetus. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Breastfeeding

TINIBA 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice before taking TINIBA 500MG TABLET.
Driving and Using Machines

Alcohol
Contraindicated
Concurrent use of TINIBA 500MG TABLET and alcohol may produce a disulfiram-like reaction and should be avoided.
Kidney
Use with Caution
Dosage adjustment in patients with impaired renal function are generally not necessary. However, because TINIBA 500MG TABLET is easily removed by haemodialysis, patients may require additional doses of TINIBA 500MG TABLET to compensate. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Liver
Use with Caution
TINIBA 500MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Allergy
Contraindicated
Do not take TINIBA 500MG TABLET if you are allergic to Tinidazole or any other ingredients of this medicine.
