INTRODUCTION ABOUT PRAMIPEX 0.5MG TABLET

PRAMIPEX 0.5MG TABLET contains Pramipexole which belongs to the group of medicines called Dopamine agonists. It is used to manage signs and symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson’s disease.

It is also prescribed to manage conditions such as Restless Legs Syndrome.

A disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, often including tremors. Nerve cell damage in the brain causes dopamine levels to drop, leading to the symptoms of Parkinson’s.

PRAMIPEX 0.5MG TABLET should not be given in patients with kidney diseases and psychosis. PRAMIPEX 0.5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

This medicine is strictly for use in adults and should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

The common side effects of taking PRAMIPEX 0.5MG TABLET include sleepiness, dizziness, dyskinesia, nausea, hallucinations (seeing, hearing or feeling things that are not present), abnormal dreams, confusion, behavioural symptoms (Impulse control and compulsions), headache, double or blurred vision, low blood pressure, constipation, vomiting, swelling of body usually in the legs, decreased weight and appetite. Consult your doctor for advice if any of the above side effects worsen.

HOW PRAMIPEX 0.5MG TABLET WORKS

PRAMIPEX 0.5MG TABLET is a dopamine agonist which binds to a set of dopamine receptors in the brain. It relieves Parkinsonism by stimulating dopamine receptors present in the striatum (part of the brain that is responsible for cognition, planning, decision-making, motivation, reinforcement, and reward perception).
