INTRODUCTION
DENSAID TOPICAL contains Diclofenac which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which reduces pain and inflammation. It is used for the local symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain and inflammation following acute blunt trauma of small and medium-sized joints and surrounding structures.
Diclofenac sodium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory with analgesic properties. It inhibits the enzyme, cyclooxygenase (COX), which is an early component of the arachidonic acid cascade, resulting in the reduced formation of prostaglandins, thromboxanes and prostacylin.
Always use DENSAID TOPICAL as prescribed by your doctor. Before using, tell your doctor if you have any kidney, liver or heart diseases, are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not suitable for use in children and adolescents below 14 years of age. The common side effects are skin redness, inflammation or swelling. Do not apply this medicine to injured or infected skin. In case of accidental contact with eyes, mucous membranes, rinse the affected area completely with running water. If the irritation persists, contact your doctor.
USES OF DENSAID TOPICAL

HOW DENSAID TOPICAL WORKS
DENSAID TOPICAL is a phenylacetic acid derivative which leads to inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity, then leads to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and other inflammation mediators.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always use DENSAID TOPICAL according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. It is for external use only. Check the label for directions before use.
- Open the protective cap
- Hold the bottle in an upright position and use as advised onto the painful or swollen site
- Massage gently into the skin
- Wash your hands after applying unless they are the site being manageed

PREGNANCY
DENSAID TOPICAL is not recommended for use in last 3 months of pregnancy unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
BREASTFEEDING
DENSAID TOPICAL is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
KIDNEY
DENSAID TOPICAL should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
DENSAID TOPICAL should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Tell your doctor if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Diclofenac.
