INTRODUCTION ABOUT ABIWAYS M TABLET
ABIWAYS M TABLET is a combination of Acebrophylline and Montelukast which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-asthmatic drugs. It is used in the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It can also be used to manage inflammation of the airways (such as bronchitis) and can provide relief from the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (nasal congestion, repeated sneezing, nasal itching or a red, watery, and itchy eyes) among asthmatic patients.
Before taking ABIWAYS M TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have fits, stomach ulcers, viral infections, hypertension or hyperthyroidism as a precaution.
ABIWAYS M TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. It should be used in breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician.
The most common side effects of taking ABIWAYS M TABLET are epigastric pain, stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache and respiratory tract infections. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.
USES OF ABIWAYS M TABLET
It is used to manage and prevent:
- Asthma & COPD
- Bronchitis (inflammation of the airways)
- Seasonal allergic rhinitis (nasal congestion, repeated sneezing, nasal itching or a red, watery, and itchy eyes)
HOW ABIWAYS M TABLET WORKS
ABIWAYS M TABLET is a bronchodilator with anti-inflammatory properties. It blocks the release of certain chemicals (such as phosphodiesterase, leukotrienes) in the respiratory tract that triggers airway inflammation, swelling and narrowing. As a result, it widens the airways, and reduces airway inflammation. This allows the air to pass through more freely through the airways which makes breathing easier.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take ABIWAYS M TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration of therapy and number of doses per day depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Do not stop taking ABIWAYS M TABLET once your symptoms subside without consulting your doctor.
