Introduction About AD 10MG SACHET
AD 10MG SACHET contains Racecadotril which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiarrheals. It is indicated in the management of acute diarrhoea in children over 3 months of age along with abundant liquid intake and the usual dietary measures.
Acute diarrhea is a sudden onset of three or more loose stools per day, lasting less than 14 days. Symptoms associated with diarrhoea includes abdominal cramps and pain, nausea, vomiting and severely it may cause blood or pus in the stool.
Before giving AD 10MG SACHET to your child, inform child’s doctor if your child has kidney or liver disease, sucrose intolerance, blood or pus in stools, fever, chronic diarrhoea or diarrhoea induced by antibiotics, prolonged or uncontrolled vomiting and diabetes.
This medicine may cause side effects such as tonsillitis, rash and erythema (skin redness). Consult your child’s doctor if any of the side effects worsens or if your child experiences any unusual effects.       Â

How AD 10MG SACHET Works
AD 10MG SACHET helps in the management of diarrhoea as it has an antisecretory mechanism. It acts on the naturally occurring substances in our body called endogenous opioids (enkephalins) and manages their degradation which reduces the secretion of water and electrolytes in the intestine without disturbing the movements of the intestines. Â
How to use AD 10MG SACHET
Always give AD 10MG SACHET to your child as directed by the physician. The granules of AD 10MG SACHET should be added to food or mixed with water in a glass or baby bottle. Mix thoroughly and give immediately to your child. Do not stop giving the medicine without informing your child’s doctor. To compensate for the loss of liquid due to your child’s diarrhoea, AD 10MG SACHET should be used together with an adequate replacement of fluid and salts such as oral rehydration solution.
Your child’s doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of AD 10MG SACHET for your child depending upon the age, body weight and disease condition.Â
Side Effects Of AD 10MG SACHET
Uncommon
- tonsillitis (inflamed and painful tonsils)
- rash and erythema (redness)
Rare
Stop giving AD 10MG SACHET to your child and contact doctor immediately if your child experiences any of the following side effects:Â Â Â Â
- signs of angioedema (swollen face, tongue or pharynx, difficulty to swallow, hives and difficulties while breathing)
- severe skin reactions
How To Manage Side Effects
Skin rash:
Tell your child not to scratch the affected area. Wear protective clothing for your child while going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your child’s skin. Consult your child’s doctor if the symptom does not improve.

- is suffering from prolonged or uncontrolled vomiting
- is suffering from diabetes
- has intolerance to sucrose
- has blood or pus in your stools and fever
Use in pediatrics:
AD 10MG SACHET should be given to children above 3 months of age. Your child’s doctor may adjust the dose based on child’s body weight. Consult your child’s doctor for advice before administration of AD 10MG SACHET.   Â

AD 10MG SACHET is intended for use in children only.
Interactions
A. Drug–Drug Interactions:
Before giving AD 10MG SACHET to your child, inform to child’s doctor if your child has taken or might take any other medicine including prescription, non-prescription or any herbal medicine.
Overdosage:
If your child or anyone else accidentally takes too much of AD 10MG SACHET, consult your child’s doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.Â
