ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET is used in the management of various bacterial and parasitic infections such as bacterial vaginosis (vaginal infection), trichomoniasis (parasitic infection of the genital tract), certain gastrointestinal infections, blood, brain, lung, bones, pelvic area infections, gum ulcers and other dental infections, leg ulcers and pressure sores. It helps to manage an infection after surgery.

How ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET Works

ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET contains a medicine called Metronidazole which is an antiprotozoal drug that kills bacteria and parasites that cause infections in the body. As a result, it kills the infection-causing germs and controls their future growth and multiplication, reducing the severity of the infection.

How to use ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET

Take ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET as advised by your physician.

Swallow ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

This medication can be taken after food, but it is important to take it at the same time every day.

Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding the dose and duration of use based on your health condition.

Do not skip doses or stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, even if you feel well, as this can lead to infection may come back.

What If I Forgot to take A Dose of ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET:

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is close to the time for your next dose; in such cases, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.

Precautions:

Do not consume alcohol during the course of treatment and for at least 48 hours after finishing the medication.

Inform Your Doctor if you have or had conditions such as kidney, liver and other neurological disorders like seizures or peripheral neuropathy

Overdosage:

Side Effects Of ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET

Like all medicines, ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET may cause certain side effects in some individuals, although not everybody gets them.

Most Common Side Effects of ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET are:

headache

lack of appetite

nausea

dryness in mouth

metallic taste in mouth

stomach cramps

dizziness

Stop taking ARISTOGYL 400MG TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

stomach pain, lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fever, tiredness, weakness, jaundice (yellowing of skin and whites of the eye), dark urine, putty or mastic-coloured stools, skin itchiness

signs of severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue causing difficulty in breathing or swallowing)

severe skin reactions (such as widespread skin rash, blistering, peeling or bleeding on any part of the skin with fever, chills, enlarged lymph nodes and malaise or pink or reddish skin lesions on palms or soles)

signs of brain disease called encephalopathy (such as fever, stiff neck, headache, seeing things which aren’t there, confusion, difficulties in using your arms and legs, problems with speaking)

signs of blood disease (such as unexpected infections, mouth ulcers, bruising, gum bleeding, or severe tiredness)

signs of a liver problem (such as yellowing of skin and eyes)

severe stomach pain which may reach through to your back (signs of inflammation in the pancreas)
