Introduction About ASTHALIN SYRUP

ASTHALIN SYRUP contains Salbutamol which belongs to the group of medicines called Bronchodilators. It is used to manage asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It can also be used to manage chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchus), bronchospasm (narrowing of airways) and emphysema (shortness of breath).

Asthma is a long-term respiratory disease in which your airways become inflamed, swollen and narrowed. It also causes excessive mucous secretion in the airways which makes it difficult for the air to pass through, leading to unpleasant symptoms like wheezing, difficulty in breathing, chest pain and/or cough.

COPD is a lung disease characterized by chronic lung inflammation and obstructed airflow within the airways. It causes wheezing, breathing difficulties, cough with mucus production and chest pain.

ASTHALIN SYRUP is suitable for use both in adults and in children (aged between 2-12 years). Before taking ASTHALIN SYRUP inform your doctor if you have diabetes, overactive thyroid functions or any heart problems (such as angina or irregular heartbeat). You must also inform your doctor if you have an enlarged prostate gland or if you are scheduled for any surgery as a precaution.

ASTHALIN SYRUP should be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. The most common side effects of taking ASTHALIN SYRUP are tremors, headache, dizziness, nausea and muscle cramps. Contact your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.

Uses Of ASTHALIN SYRUP

It is used in adults and in children (aged between 2-12 years) to manage and prevent:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchus)
  • Bronchospasm and emphysema (shortness of breath)

How ASTHALIN SYRUP Works

ASTHALIN SYRUP is a bronchodilator. It relaxes the smooth muscles of the airways and widens them. It also blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the airways (such as mast cells) that cause inflammation and swelling. As a result, it reduces airway inflammation, manages the airways from becoming narrow and allows the air to pass through more freely which makes breathing easier.

Take ASTHALIN SYRUP as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Measure the required quantity of the medicine in the measuring cup provided with this pack and consume it immediately.
