Introduction About AUGPEN DROPS
AUGPEN DROPS is used in infants for the management of various bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, bone and joint infections, middle ear infections (otitis media), tonsillitis, sinusitis, skin, and soft tissue infections such as cellulitis, animal bites, etc.
It contains a combination of medicines call which belong to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It works by preventing the growth of the bacteria, thus clearing up the infection.
AUGPEN DROPS is not recommended for children with a history of severe kidney impairment, history of liver problems, or jaundice after taking penicillin antibiotics. It should be used with caution in children suffering from glandular fever (viral infection causing sore throat, high fever, swelling of salivary glands), liver disease, or kidney disease who are not passing urine daily.
AUGPEN DROPS is for pediatric use only. It should be used with caution in neonates and infants less than 12 weeks of age. The most common side effects after giving AUGPEN DROPS are vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, and thrush (fungal infections). Consult your doctor immediately if your child experiences any of the above side effects.

How AUGPEN DROPS Works
AUGPEN DROPS work against bacterial infections. Amoxicillin in Clavam stops bacteria from making their cell walls, causing them to break apart and die. Clavulanic acid in Clavam stops bacteria from destroying amoxicillin, making it more effective at killing bacteria. So together, they help kill bacteria and manage infections.
How to use AUGPEN DROPS
- Administer this medicine to your child as directed by your physician.
- Shake the medicine well before use.
- Measure the required amount of the medicine in the measuring dropper provided with the pack.
- Make sure to rinse the measuring dropper in warm water before and after use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose for your child based on their age and body weight.

Before giving AUGPEN DROPS to your child, inform your child’s doctor if they have:

- not been urinating regularly
- urine and blood tests

Before giving AUGPEN DROPS, inform your doctor if your child is taking any other medicines as a precaution.
Overdosage:
In case your child takes too much of AUGPEN DROPS accidentally, then consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose of AUGPEN DROPS are nausea, diarrhea, fits, fluid, and electrolyte imbalance.
