MICOGERM
NM CREAM is a combination of Miconazole, Mometasone and Nadifloxacin
which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungals,
Corticosteroids and Antibiotic respectively. It is used to manage
bacterial and fungal skin infections like atopic and contact dermatitis,
erythema multiforme, infective eczema, psoriasis and skin lesions.
Bacterial
infection occurs when bacteria enters the body, increase the number of
bacteria and cause a reaction in the body. A fungal infection (mycosis)
is a skin disease that is caused by a fungus when it enters the tissue.
Fungal infections can be contagious and spread from one person to
another person. Before using MICOGERM NM CREAM, inform your doctor if
you have psoriasis. MICOGERM NM CREAM is not recommended for use during
pregnancy.
MICOGERM NM CREAM should be used with caution in
breastfeeding women unless considered clearly necessary. MICOGERM NM
CREAM is not recommended for use in children under 2 years of age and it
should be used with caution in elderly patients. The most common side
effects of this medicine are application site reactions (such as
burning, irritation, itching, flaking and redness). Contact your
physician if any of the above symptoms worsen.
Uses Of MICOGERM NM CREAM
It is used to manage bacterial and fungal skin infections such as:
- atopic and contact dermatitis
- erythema multiforme
- infective eczema
- psoriasis
- skin lesions
How MICOGERM NM CREAM Works
MICOGERM
NM CREAM is a combination of Miconazole, Mometasone and Nadifloxacin.
Miconazole works by causing holes in the cell membranes of the fungi and
works against fungi. Mometasone is a corticosteroid that works by
blocking the various chemical messengers (like histamine) involved in
allergic and non-allergic mediated inflammation. It reduces
inflammation, itchiness and redness by managing the traveling of
infection-fighting white blood cells (WBCs) to the affected area of the
body. Nadifloxacin belongs to antibiotic works by against the bacteria
that cause skin infections and also inhibits the repairing of bacterial
cells, thereby managing the further spread of the infections.
How to use MICOGERM NM CREAM
Apply
MICOGERM NM CREAM as directed by your physician. It is for external use
only. Apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area of the
skin and rub it gently. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends
on your age, body weight and severity of infection.
Side Effects Of MICOGERM NM CREAM
Common
- application site reactions (burning, irritation, itching, flaking and redness)
Stop applying MICOGERM NM CREAM and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe
skin reactions or allergies (swelling of the face, tongue or throat,
difficulty swallowing or difficulty breathing, hives, severe irritation,

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

- medicine used to thin the blood (Ex. warfarin)
