HOW MOMOZ F OINTMENT WORKS
MOMOZ
F OINTMENT manages inflammatory dermatoses, where mometasone furoate
manages inflammation by blocking the production of certain chemical
messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy,
and fusidic acid manages the growth of bacteria and causes its
destruction by inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins that are
essential for the bacteria to grow thus managing inflammatory dermatoses
in affected individuals.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always
apply MOMOZ F OINTMENT as directed by your physician. It is for
external use only. Apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected
area. Do not use this medicine on your face. Avoid applying this
medicine around your eyes, including eyelids.
SIDE EFFECTS OF MOMOZ F OINTMENT
COMMON
- mild to moderate pruritus (itchy skin)
- burning and stinging sensation of skin
- folliculitis (a type of skin infection marked by inflamed hair follicles)
- dryness of skin
- acneiform
eruptions (a type of skin infection marked by papules and pustules
resembling acne (a type of skin condition where hair follicles become
plugged in with oil and dead skin cells) - mild skin atrophy (thin-shiny appearing skin)
- telangiectasia (a condition of dilated small blood vessels on skin)
UNCOMMON
- erythema (skin rash)
- swelling due to accumulation of fluid in hands, arms, feet, ankles and legs

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Dry Skin:
Try
moisturizing your skin with an ointment, cream/lotion 2 or 3 times a
day, or as often as needed. Moisturizers help to keep the area
moisture, so they work best on damp skin. After you bathe, pat your skin
dry then apply your moisturizer. Try to avoid using skin care products
and soaps that contain alcohol, fragrances, dyes, or other chemicals.
Itchy Skin:
Try
to pat or tap your skin instead of scratching it. Hold a damp towel to
cool your skin. Wear loose clothing and avoid tight clothes, or clothes
made from wool or synthetic fabrics. Avoid using perfumed soaps,
deodorants or moisturizers and use skin softeners regularly.

- have an infection at/near management site
- suffer from skin atrophy (decreased thickening of skin)
- have diabetes mellitus
- suffer from glaucoma (increased pressure in eye) / cataracts (cloudy of eye lens)
- have active viral illnesses such as chicken pox / measles.
Use in Paediatrics:
MOMOZ
F OINTMENT is not recommended for use in children (aged below 12
years). Consult your doctor before applying the medicine to the child.
Use in Geriatrics:
MOMOZ
F OINTMENT should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65

INTERACTIONS
A. Drug – Drug interactions:
- anthralin (medicines used to manage psoriasis).
Overdosage:
If
you or anyone else accidentally applies too much of MOMOZ F OINTMENT,
consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms
of overdose are suppression of pituitary
adrenal function which results in secondary adrenal insufficiency
associated with weakness, fatigue, and/or weight loss.
