Introduction About ROXID KID TABLET

ROXID KID TABLET contains Roxithromycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage mild to moderately severe bacterial infections in children such as acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis (inflammation of pharynx or tonsils characterized by sore throat and pain during swallowing), skin and soft issues infections like impetigo (contagious skin infections that predominantly affects infants and young children characterised with red sores around the face, mouth, and nose).

Prior to the management, your doctor may want you to take several blood tests to examine your child’s existing condition.

ROXID KID TABLET is not recommended for use in children having severely impaired liver function. Consult your doctor before giving ROXID KID TABLET to your child.

It should be used with caution among children with impaired kidney function and heart diseases. Consult your doctor before giving ROXID KID TABLET to your child.

Your doctor will prescribe the right dose and duration depends on your child’s age, body weight and severity of the infection. Consult your doctor before giving ROXID KID TABLET to your child.

ROXID KID TABLET may cause minor side effects such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, flatulence although not everybody gets them. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen or persist for a longer duration.

Uses Of ROXID KID TABLET

It is used to manage bacterial infections in children such as:

acute pharyngitis
acute tonsillitis
skin and soft issues infections like impetigo

How ROXID KID TABLET Works

ROXID KID TABLET works by inhibiting the protein synthesis through cell wall penetration of the suspectable organisms and binding on the 50 S ribosomal subunit of bacteria thereby terminating the bacterial growth. As a result, it blocks the growth of the bacteria and stops the infection from spreading.

How to use ROXID KID TABLET

Give ROXID KID TABLET to your child as per the physician’s advice.

For Tablet, Capsule: ROXID KID TABLET should be taken with a glass of water and do not crush or chew the medicine.

For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse ROXID KID TABLET in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Then mix it well and give your child to drink it immediately.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for your child depending upon your child’s age, body weight and severity of infection. Continue to give ROXID KID TABLET for the stipulated duration prescribed by your doctor to achieve better results.

Side Effects Of ROXID KID TABLET

Rare

Stop taking ROXID KID TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if your child experience any of the following side effects:

serious allergic reaction like swelling of the face, mouth, lips, and tongue, itchy skin with rash, blisters, and bleeding in the lips, mouth, noses, eyes, genitals, asthma, wheezing
severe abdominal or stomach cramps, watery and persistent severe diarrhoea (may be with blood), fever with or without the above symptoms
frequent infections such as sore throat, mouth ulcers, fever, and severe chills

Driving and Using Machines

Do not allow your child drive or play outdoors, as ROXID KID TABLET may cause dizziness or blurry vision. Consult your doctor before giving ROXID KID TABLET.

Kidney

ROXID KID TABLET should be used with caution in children having impaired kidney function. Consult your doctor for advice before giving ROXID KID TABLET.

Liver

ROXID KID TABLET is not recommended for use in children having severely impaired liver function (liver cirrhosis with jaundice and/or ascites). Consult your doctor before giving ROXID KID TABLET.

Allergy

Do not give ROXID KID TABLET if your child is allergic to Roxithromycin or macrolide antibiotics (Ex. azithromycin, erythromycin, or clarithromycin), or any other ingredients of this medicine.
