INTRODUCTION

SICRIPTIN
2.5MG contains Bromocriptine which belongs to the group of medicines
called Dopamine agonists. It helps to manage hormonal disorders
associated with increased levels of a hormone called prolactin in the
body. It is used stop breast milk production among lactating women who
wish to stop breastfeeding. It can also be used to manage infertility
problems (such as delay in puberty or lack of periods in both men and
women) and prolactinomas (non-cancerous tumours of brain) which is
caused due to increased levels of prolactin in the blood.

It also
helps in the management of acromegaly (abnormal growth during
adolescence) and is also capable of controlling signs and symptoms of
parkinsonism (a nerve disorder caused due to deficiency of a brain
chemical called dopamine).

Bromocriptine is a prolactin inhibitor
with dopamine agonistic activity. It exerts its effects by blocking the
production of a hormone called prolactin in the body. This helps in
reducing breast milk production, infertility problems and abnormal
growth (acromegaly) that are caused primarily due to abnormal prolactin
levels in blood. It also controls the symptoms of parkinsonism by
replacing the lost dopamine levels in the brain.

Prior and during
management with SICRIPTIN 2.5MG your doctor will regularly monitor your
heart (blood pressure), lungs and kidney functions to avoid the risk of
unwanted side effects. Women taking SICRIPTIN 2.5MG for a long time
must frequently undergo gynaecological examination and cervical smear
tests as a safety measure.

Before taking SICRIPTIN 2.5MG inform
your doctor if you have any liver problems, stomach problems, fits, or
severe headache. It is strictly not recommended for use in women who
suffered from very high blood pressure during their previous
pregnancies. It should be used in breast feeding mothers unless they
wish to stop breastfeeding. It is indicated to stop breast milk
production or to relieve painful breast engorgement only when other
non-medical means (such as firm breast support, ice application or use
of painkiller) did not provide adequate response.

Patients taking
SICRIPTIN 2.5MG must inform their doctor if they develop any unusual
mood changes such as tendency to eat or spend more, increased sex drive
or excessive gambling. The most common side effects of taking SICRIPTIN
2.5MG are headache, dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor
if any of the side effect bothers you.

USES OF SICRIPTIN 2.5MG

  • Helps to stop breast milk production in lactating women
  • Manages infertility problems (such as delay in puberty, PCOS or lack of periods) in both men and in women

HOW SICRIPTIN 2.5MG WORKS

SICRIPTIN
2.5MG corrects hormonal imbalance and brain disorders. It contains a
medicine called bromocriptine which is a dopamine agonist and a

called prolactin in the body that causes galactorrhoea (increased breast
milk production), infertility problems or certain non-cancerous tumours
(such as prolactinoma). It manages acromegaly by reducing the amount of
growth hormone produced in the body. It also reduces the signs and
symptoms of parkinsonism (rigidity, tremor, and muscle stiffness) by
replacing the lost dopamine levels in the brain.
