Introduction About TAZOWIN INJECTION
TAZOWIN INJECTION contains Pentazocine which belongs to the group of medicines called Opiate Analgesics. TAZOWIN INJECTION is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. It may also be used for pre-operative or pre-anesthetic medication and as a supplement to surgical anesthesia. Avoid consuming alcohol, tobacco, and smoking while receiving TAZOWIN INJECTION as it can increase the side effects.
Do not receive TAZOWIN INJECTION if you have severe asthma, trouble breathing, or other breathing problems, heart problems, bowel blockage or narrowing of the stomach or intestines, severe pain in the abdomen due to acute appendicitis or pancreatitis, acute respiratory depression, head injury, a risk for seizures, undergone a surgery or are planned to undergo a surgery therefore, consult your doctor before receiving. TAZOWIN INJECTION should be used with caution in patients who have severe kidney, liver and lung disease, heart disease, migraines, chronic or severe constipation, thyroid, adrenal or prostate gland disorders, low blood pressure, psychiatric problems such as depression, hallucinations or other mental problems, consult your doctor before receiving the medicine.
TAZOWIN INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women until necessary, therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it. TAZOWIN INJECTION is not recommended for administration in children and adolescents less than 12 years of age, consult your doctor for advice. TAZOWIN INJECTION should be used with caution in elderly patients, therefore consult your doctor before receiving. The most common side effects after receiving TAZOWIN INJECTION are nausea, vomiting, sedation, sweating, dizziness, euphoria and light-headedness. Consult your doctor immediately in case any of the side effects worsen or you experience an allergic reaction after receiving TAZOWIN INJECTION.

TAZOWIN INJECTION acts on the central nervous system (CNS) to relieve pain. It relieves pain by acting on specific nerve cells of the spinal cord and brain.
How to use TAZOWIN INJECTION
TAZOWIN INJECTION will be administered into a vein, muscle or into the upper skin layer by your doctor or nurse. Your doctor will decide the duration depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.

Stop receiving TAZOWIN INJECTION and consult your doctor immediately if you experience:
- Respiratory depression symptoms that causes slow, shallow or weak breathing
- Allergic reaction that includes rash, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing or breathing
- Bowel blockage (impaction) symptoms include abdominal pain, severe constipation, nausea
- Serotonin syndrome symptoms include agitation or restlessness, loss of muscle control or muscle twitching, tremor, diarrhoea
How To Manage Side Effects
Constipation
Eat plenty of fibre-rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals. Drink water and exercise regularly. Contact your doctor if constipation persists.
Diarrhea
Drink plenty of water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Don’t take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhoea however, contact your doctor if your diarrhoea worsens.
Dizziness Or Drowsiness
Lie down until the dizziness is gone and get up slowly. Move slowly and carefully, do not hurry. Get adequate rest. Drink plenty of water and other fluids. Avoid coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, and medicine, however, consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Headache
Drink lots of water and avoid skipping meals. Try to be relaxed and avoid stress. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary and consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Nausea And Vomiting
Receive the medicine, with or just after a meal and stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food however, contact your doctor if nausea and vomiting worsen or persist.
