Introduction About TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET
TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET contain Neostigmine which belongs to a group of medicine called Cholinergic drugs. It is mainly used for the management of myasthenia gravis (a chronic autoimmune disorder in which antibodies destroy the communication between nerves and muscle, characterised by weakness in the arm and leg muscles, double vision, trouble speaking and chewing).
TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET is also used to normalise intestinal movements and for the management of urinary retention after surgery. TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you have blockage in your intestine or face difficulty urinating.
Before taking TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET tell your doctor if you have asthma, fits, stomach ulcer or Parkinson’s disease. TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women and breast-feeding women.
Your doctor will prescribe the right dose of TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET for your child depending on their age, body weight and disease condition. Consult your doctor if you experience any side effects or if any of the symptoms worsen or persist.

How TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET Works
TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET increases muscle strength by blocking the action of an enzyme in the body which blocks nerve impulses to muscles. By stopping this enzyme from working, it strengthens muscles and thus helps in easing of intestinal movements and urinary retention.
How to use TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET
Take TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow with a glass of water, do not crush or chew it. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET
Rare
Stop taking TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- allergic reaction (sudden wheeziness, trouble breathing, swelling of the eyelids, face or lips, rash or itching especially of your whole body)
How To Manage Side Effects
Skin rash:
Try to avoid hot showers because it may cause skin irritation. Avoid frequent contact and rubbing over the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Warning & Precautions
Pregnancy
TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET should be used with caution in women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Breastfeeding
TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel ill after taking TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET.
Allergy
Do not take TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET if you are allergic to Neostigmine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Lungs
TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients having asthma. Consult your doctor for advice.
Others
TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you have:
- a blockage in your bowel which may cause vomiting, abdominal pain and swelling
- difficulty passing urine
Before taking TILSTIGMIN 15MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have:
- stomach ulcer
- epilepsy (fits)
- Parkinson’s disease
- been told to have an irritability of the vagus nerve which may cause excessive contractions of the intestine
