Introduction About ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION
ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION contains Griseofulvin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-fungals. It is used to manage fungal infections of the skin, hair or nails where topical therapy is not suitable or has failed to manage the condition.
Avoid consumption of alcohol during management with ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION, as it may cause nausea, vomiting or flushing. Before taking ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you have skin, liver or kidney problems or porphyria (which results from an increase in certain chemicals related to red blood cell proteins).
ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION is not recommended for pregnant women. It is not known if this medicine passes into breast milk in breastfeeding women; therefore, consult your doctor before taking it. The most common side effects of taking ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION are skin conditions like rashes. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

How ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION Works
ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION inhibits the growth of fungi by binding to a part of the fungus causing the infection in the body. This stops the fungus from multiplying. It also manages fungus from spreading to new cells. These actions cause the fungal infection to shed completely.
How to use ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION
Take ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION
Common
- hypersensitivity reactions (skin rashes and hives)
Rare
- hypersensitivity reactions like painless swelling under the skin and erythema multiforme (a skin condition)
- excess protein in the urine
- nephrosis (an inflammatory kidney disease)
- leukopenia (lack of white blood cells)
- coagulopathy (impaired blood clotting)
- hepatitis (liver infection)
- increased levels of liver enzymes
- hyperbilirubinemia (raised blood levels of bilirubin)
- gastrointestinal bleeding
Warning & Precautions

Pregnancy
ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant women or women who may become pregnant during> management. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Breastfeeding
It is unknown if ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Alcohol
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION as it may cause nausea, vomiting, flushing, hast heartbeat or low blood pressure.

Kidney
Periodic monitoring of kidney functions is required in patients taking ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION.

Liver
ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION is not recommended in patients with liver failure. Periodic monitoring of liver functions is required. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Allergy
Do not take ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION if you are allergic to Griseofulvin.
Others
ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION is not recommended for use if you:
- have porphyria (results from an increase in certain chemicals related to red blood cell proteins)
Before taking ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you:
- have Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (a rare painful skin and tissue disease)
- feel that your skin is becoming more sensitive to sunlight or ultraviolet (UV) light
Use in Paediatrics:
Safety of ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION in children (less than 2 years of age) has not been established. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- medicines used to thin your blood (Ex. warfarin, clopidogrel)
- oral contraceptives (used to manage pregnancy) Ex. ethinyl estradiol, norethindrone
- ciclosporin (used after organ transplantation to manage organ rejection)
- salicylates (used to manage pain, fever or inflammation) Ex. aspirin
- barbiturates (used to manage fits or to induce sleep) Ex. phenobarbital, primidone
- medicines used to manage infections (Ex. penicillin)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of ZORBAX 125 SUSPENSION, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
