Introduction About ADMENTA 10MG TABLET

ADMENTA 10MG TABLET contains Memantine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-dementia drugs. It is used to manage moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s disease is a neurodegenerative disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions in an individual. It is caused due to formation and accumulation of certain toxic proteins in the brain that destroys brain cells. It can be characterized by loss of memory and forgetfulness of day-to-day activities.

Memantine is a N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist. It acts by blocking the over activation of certain chemicals (glutamate and beta-amyloid peptide) in the brain that causes Alzheimer’s disease. It can also block the activity of other chemical messengers (like serotonin and acetylcholine) which are responsible for affecting thoughts, memory and mental state.

Before taking ADMENTA 10MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have or have a family history of fits or if you made any sudden changes to your diet. During management with ADMENTA 10MG TABLET, your doctor would closely monitor your health condition to access the improvement and to avoid unwanted side effects.
