INTRODUCTION ABOUT NILAC GEL
NILAC
GEL is a combination of Clindamycin and Nicotinamide which belongs to a
group of medicines called Lincomycin antibiotics and Vitamin B3
complex, respectively. NILAC GEL is used to manage mild to moderate acne
which is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become
plugged with oil and dead skin cells which may occur due to variety of
causes such as genetics, fluctuating hormone levels, stress, high
humidity or using oily or greasy personal care products which may affect
people of all ages.
It is characterized by symptoms such as open
or closed plugged pores, small red & tender bumps, pimples, large,
solid or painful lumps under the skin and painful & pus-filled lumps
under the skin.
Before using NILAC GEL inform your doctor if you
have liver, kidney, lung or heart diseases. Avoid applying NILAC GEL to
a cut, scrapped, sunburnt or eczema affected skin.
NILAC GEL
should be used with caution in pregnant and in breastfeeding women.
NILAC GEL is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below
12 years). Consult your doctor before applying.
The most common
side effects of using NILAC GEL are skin inflammation, contact
dermatitis (red, itchy rash), inflammation of hair follicles, itchy
skin, dry skin and peeling of skin. Consult your doctor if any of these
symptoms worsen.
USES OF NILAC GEL

HOW NILAC GEL WORKS
NILAC
GEL helps to manage acne, where Clindamycin reduces free fatty acid
concentrations on the skin and suppresses the growth of
Propionibacterium acnes (Corynebacterium acnes), a bacteria found in
sebaceous glands and follicles and Nicotinamide exerts anti-inflammatory
effect in acne and interrupts sebum production.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Apply
NILAC GEL as advised by your physician. It is for external use only.
Before applying the medicine normally wash and dry the affected area and
apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area. Managed areas
on the face need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Do not apply
this medicine beyond the recommended duration. Avoid applying NILAC GEL
around your eyes, including eyelids. Rinse it off with water if you
accidentally get it in these areas.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Skin rash/Itchy skin:
Avoid
hot bath because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not
scratch the affected area. Use protective clothing when going outdoors.
Regularly moisturize your skin and apply calamine lotion as a coolant.
Discuss with your doctor if the symptom worsens.

ALLERGY

NILAC GEL is not recommended for use if you have:
- eczema (skin inflammation)
- cut, scrapped, sunburnt skin
Use in Pediatrics:
NILAC
GEL is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 12
years). Consult your doctor before using it for your child.
Use in Geriatrics:
There is no information on the use of NILAC GEL in elderly patients. Consult with your doctor before using.
INTERACTIONS
A. Drug – Drug interactions:
Before using NILAC GEL, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- acepromazine (used a sedative/tranquilizer)
- acetaminophen (used to manage pain and inflammation)
Overdosage:
If
you or anyone else accidentally ingests or applies too much of NILAC
GEL, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
