Introduction About AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET
AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET is used in the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It can also be used to manage inflammation of the airways (such as bronchitis). It contains Acebrophylline which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-asthmatic agents.
Before taking AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have fits, stomach ulcers, viral infections, hypertension or hyperthyroidism as a precaution. It is not recommended for use in pregnant women. It should be used in breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician.
The most common side effects are epigastric pain, stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, diarrhea and constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.
How AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET Works
AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET blocks the release of certain chemicals (such as phosphodiesterase) in the respiratory tract that triggers airway inflammation, swelling and narrowing. As a result, it widens the airways and reduces airway inflammation. It also loosens the mucus accumulated in the airways which allows the air to pass through more freely through the airways and makes breathing easier.
How to use AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET
- Take the medicine as advised by your physician
- Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
- Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition
- Do not stop taking AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET once your symptoms subside without consulting your doctor

Kidney

AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney problems. It should be used with caution in patients with other kidney problems.
Liver

AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver problems. It should be used with caution in patients with hepatic dysfunction.
Allergy

Do not take AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET if you are allergic to Acebrophylline or to any other ingredients o this medicine.
Heart Disease

AB PHYLLINE SR 200 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients suffering from myocardial infarction or arrythmias. It should be used with caution in patients with heart failure or any other heart problems. Â

- have hypotension (low blood pressure)
- have fluid and electrolyte imbalance
