Introduction About TAXIM O DROPS

TAXIM
O DROPS is used in children for the management of bacterial infections.
It is used for short-term management of bacterial infections of urinary
tract, skin and soft-tissue, ear, bone, blood, abdomen, genital and
lungs (pneumonia). It is also used to reduce the risk of getting typhoid
fever.

It contains a medicine called Cefixime,
which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It works by
stopping the growth of bacteria by interfering with the synthesis of
the bacterial cell wall and eventually killing the bacteria.

Give
TAXIM O DROPS to your child for the stipulated duration instructed by
your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy to
achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the
therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in
adequate infection control.

Before administering TAXIM O DROPS to
your child, inform your child’s doctor if your child is suffering from
any stomach problems or kidney problems.

The most common side
effects of taking TAXIM O DROPS are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach
pain, and bloating. Inform your doctor if they trouble you.

Uses Of TAXIM O DROPS

TAXIM O DROPS is used in children for the management of bacterial infections such as:

  • Ear infections
  • Nose, throat or sinus infections (sore throat, sinusitis)
  • Chest and lung infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia)
  • Urinary system (such as cystitis and kidney infections)
  • Stomach infections (infections of the gut)
  • Typhoid fever

How TAXIM O DROPS Works

TAXIM
O DROPS is a powerful antibiotic with bacteriostatic properties. It
kills susceptible bacteria by blocking the bacterial cell wall
synthesis. Unlike other cephalosporins, it can also remain unaffected by
the toxic proteins produced by the bacteria (such as beta-lactamases).
Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria, manage
their further growth and multiplication, and reduce the severity of the
infection.

How to use TAXIM O DROPS

  • Use this medicine as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.
  • For Dispersible Tablet:
Disperse the medicine in the required quantity of water (as mentioned
in product label) and make your child consume the mixture once the
    medicine dissolves completely
  • For Dry syrup: Shake
the bottle to disperse the powder. Pour the sterile water provided with
the pack into the bottle containing powder. Close the bottle and shake
it vigorously. Make sure that the mixture has no lumps. Measure the
required quantity of prepared mixture in the measuring cup and make your
    child consume it.
  • Your doctor will decide the correct dose and
duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight, and
    severity of the infection.
  • Do not stop taking TAXIM O DROPS once your symptoms subside.
  • It
is important to take this medicine for the stipulated duration
recommended by your doctor to achieve control over the infection
