INTRODUCTION
CANDID GOLD contains Clotrimazole which belongs
to the group of medicines called Antifungals. It is used in the
management of fungal skin infections such as ringworm (fungal infection
of the skin or scalp), athlete’s foot (fungal infection between the
toes), fungal nappy rash (skin rash affecting the nappy area) and fungal
sweat rash. It also relieves irritation of the vulva (external thrush)
or at the end of penis, which may be associated with thrush.

HOW CANDID GOLD WORKS
CANDID
GOLD acts by specifically inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol and
other sterols (enzyme) required for cell membrane production, therefore
it inhibits the division and growing of fungi eventually leading to
cell death, which further prevents fungal growth.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always
apply CANDID GOLD as directed by your physician. It is for external use
only. Clean and dry the affected surface before applying the medicine.
Apply and rub gently a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area.
Wash your hands before and after applying the medicine. Do not use
CANDID GOLD on your face, eyes or large area. Do not use under bandages
or for a long time without consulting your doctor. Your doctor will
decide the duration and time interval for application depending upon the
type of infection.
SIDE EFFECTS OF CANDID GOLD
RARE
Stop applying CANDID GOLD and contact your doctor immediately if you experience this side effect:
- signs
of allergic reaction (includes rash, swelling of the lips, throat,
tongue or face, feeling faint or dizzy, weakness, nausea and swallowing
or breathing problems)
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
CANDID GOLD can be used during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before applying it.
BREASTFEEDING
CANDID GOLD can be used during breast-feeding. Consult your doctor before applying it.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
CANDID GOLD does not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
ALLERGY
Do not apply CANDID GOLD if you are allergic to Clotrimazole or any other ingredients of this medicine.
OTHERS
CANDID GOLD is not recommended for use if you:
- have nail or scalp infections

INTERACTIONS
Before
applying CANDID GOLD, inform your doctor if you have recently taken or
take any other medicines including non-prescription medicines and using:
- latex contraceptives (such as condoms or diaphragms) used to prevent pregnancy
Overdosage:
There
is no risk of acute intoxication of topical administration. If you or
anyone else accidentally ingest CANDID GOLD, consult your doctor
immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms include dizziness,
nausea or vomiting.
