INTRODUCTION ABOUT COLOPREP ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT
COLOPREP
ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT is combination of Magnesium Sulphate, Potassium
Sulphate, and Sodium Sulphate that belong to the group of medicines
called Osmotic Laxatives. It is used in adults for cleansing of the
colon (a part of large intestine) to prepare for colonoscopy.
A
colonoscopy is a clinical examination in which a colonoscope (a long,
flexible tube) is inserted into the rectum to examine the swellings,
irritated tissues, polyps, or certain cancers in the colon (a part of
the large intestine) and rectum. Therefore, it is extremely important to
thoroughly clean the colon before this procedure.
Avoid eating
solid foods or drinking milk while taking COLOPREP ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT or
until your colonoscopy is done. Avoid eating or drinking anything that
is red or purple in colour. It is not recommended in patients with
moderate renal impairment or renal insufficiency.
COLOPREP ORANGE
FLAVOUR KIT should be used with caution in patients with problems like
aspirating food or fluids into the lungs while eating or swallowing and
mild to moderate hepatic impairment.
Patients who have a history
of prolonged QT (abnormal ECG readings), uncontrolled irregularities of
heartbeats, recent myocardial infarction (damage to heart muscles due to
blocked blood supply to heart), unstable angina (chest pain due to
underlying heart disease), congestive heart failure (loss of heart
function), or cardiomyopathy (inability of heart muscles to pump) should
be used with caution.
COLOPREP ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT should be used
cautiously in pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, children (under 12
years of age), and elderly patients (aged 65 years or above). Consult
your doctor before taking it.
The common side effects associated
with the use of COLOPREP ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT are overall discomfort,
abdominal distention, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and

HOW COLOPREP ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT WORKS
COLOPREP
ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT helps in cleansing the colon, where Magnesium
Sulphate, Potassium Sulphate, and Sodium Sulphate work by absorbing the
water from surrounding tissues to hydrate and soften the stools, thereby
allowing the easy passage of stools and proper cleansing of the colon.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take
COLOPREP ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT as advised by your physician. Take this
medicine in two doses: one dose in the evening prior to colonoscopy, or
10 to 12 hours before the second dose, and the second dose in the
morning of colonoscopy day, or at least 3 12 hours before colonoscopy.
Your doctor will determine the correct dose and duration for you
depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition.

- have gastrointestinal obstruction such as abdominal adhesions, hernia, or diverticulitis
- have perforations in the intestines
- have gastric retention (a disease in which the stomach is unable to empty itself in a normal manner)
- have ileus (loss of intestinal functions to move the food causing blockage in the intestines)
- have toxic colitis or toxic megacolon (a life-threatening condition due to inflammation in the colon)
Before taking COLOPREP ORANGE FLAVOUR KIT, inform your doctor if you:Â Â Â Â
- have stomach or bowel problems such as ulcerative colitis
- have swallowing problems or gastric reflux issues
- have gout (joint pain due excess uric acid in the body)
- have any history of seizures

- medicines used to manage blood pressure or heart problems Ex. atenolol

- medicines used to manage seizures Ex. carbamazepine
- medicines used to lower the blood pressure such as water pills (diuretics) Ex. chlorothiazide
- medicines used to manage pain and inflammation such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) Ex. dexamethasone
- medicines used to manage constipation such as laxatives Ex. bisacodyl
- medicines for depression or mental health problems Ex. paroxetine
