INTRODUCTION ABOUT EPIMAC PLUS TABLET

EPIMAC
PLUS TABLET is a combination of Eperisone and Paracetamol which belongs
to the group of medicines called Muscle relaxants and
Analgesics respectively. It is used to manage pain due to muscle spasm.

Avoid
consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine as it may severely
damage the liver. EPIMAC PLUS TABLET should be used with caution in
patients with asthma, liver disease or disorder and kidney disease.

EPIMAC
PLUS TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women unless
advised by the doctor and it is not recommended for use in breastfeeding
women. EPIMAC PLUS TABLET is not recommended for use in children due to
lack of safety data and it should be used with caution in elderly
patients (aged 65 years and above).

The most common side effects
of taking EPIMAC PLUS TABLET are nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort,
abdominal pain, general discomfort and constipation. Consult your doctor
if any of the side effects worsen over the time.

HOW EPIMAC PLUS TABLET WORKS

EPIMAC
PLUS TABLET helps to manage pain due to muscle spasm, where eperisone
works by acting on the centres in the brain and spinal cord. It also
dilates vascular smooth muscles improving blood flow and relieves muscle
spasm. Paracetamol works by increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting
COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take
EPIMAC PLUS TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow EPIMAC PLUS
TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your
doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon
your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking EPIMAC
PLUS TABLET without informing your doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS OF EPIMAC PLUS TABLET

COMMON

nausea, vomiting
loss of appetite, gastric discomfort
abdominal pain
diarrhea, constipation
light-headedness, drowsiness
lack of energy
general discomfort
rash, itching
erythema multiforme exudativum (red and raised rash)

RARE

depression, confusion, hallucinations
tremor, headache
disturbed vision
oedema (abnormal accumulation of fluid under the skin)
bleeding from stomach or intestines
dizziness, fever

Stop taking EPIMAC PLUS TABLET and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

severe allergic reactions (signs include swelling of the face, lips, tongue, neck or throat causing difficulty in breathing)
anaphylactoid symptoms (such as itchiness, edema (such as facial), respiratory distress)
steven-johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrosis (signs include fever, erythema, bloodshot eyes)
