Introduction About MOREASE I SACHET
MOREASE I SACHET is a combination of Ispaghula Husk and Mebeverine which belongs to the group of medicines called Natural plant materials and Antispasmodics respectively. It is used to relieve the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), at the same time it helps to restore and maintain bowel regularity. Â
Irritable bowel syndrome is a disease condition that affects the large intestine. The most common symptoms are abdominal cramping, change in bowel habits, bloating, constipation, and diarrhoea. Â
Before taking MOREASE I SACHET, inform your doctor if you have blockage of the bowel, decreased activity of the bowel, difficulty in swallowing, throat problems, severe constipation, bleeding from the bowel or sudden change in bowel habits.
MOREASE I SACHET should be used with caution in patients having reduced kidney function, phenylketonuria, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite or weight, fever, vaginal bleeding or discharge, difficulty or pain during urination or acute porphyria. Â Â
MOREASE I SACHET should be used with caution in pregnant women and it is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. This medicine is not recommended for use in children (below 12 year of age) and should be used with caution in elderly patients. Â
During management with this medicine if you experience allergic skin reaction such as rash or itching and swollen face or breathing problems, consult your doctor immediately.

How MOREASE I SACHET Works
MOREASE I SACHET relives irritable bowel syndrome, in which ispaghula husk works by increasing bulk contents of the gut passing through the digestive system and helps the body to work normally. Mebeverine is an antispasmodic drug which helps in relieving the cramps and spasm occurring in the gut causing pain.
How to use MOREASE I SACHET
Take MOREASE I SACHET as advised by your physician. Empty the contents of the sachet into a glass of normal water (150 ml), then stir the content and drink immediately. Do not take this medicine without water. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of MOREASE I SACHET for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of MOREASE I SACHET
Rare
Stop taking MOREASE I SACHET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- allergic skin reaction including skin rash with itching (such as hives or nettle rash)
- severe allergic reaction including swollen face or breathing problems
Warning & Precautions

Pregnancy
MOREASE I SACHET should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Breastfeeding
MOREASE I SACHET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Kidney
MOREASE I SACHET should be taken with caution in patients with reduced kidney function. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Allergy
Do not take MOREASE I SACHET if you are allergic to Ispaghula or Mebeverine.
Others
MOREASE I SACHET is not recommended for use if you:
- have blockage of the bowel
- have muscle weakness or decreased activity of the bowel (megacolon or paralysis of the intestine)
- have difficulty in swallowing or any throat problems
- have severe constipation or have passed blood from the bowel
- have sudden change in bowel habits (persisting for more than 2 weeks)
Before taking MOREASE I SACHET tell your doctor if you:
- have phenylketonuria (inherited condition)
- have stomach pain and nausea or vomiting
- have loss of appetite or weight
- are aged 40 years or above
- are feeling weak, tired or looking pale
- have fever
- are taking potassium restricted diet
- have vaginal bleeding or discharge
- have difficulty or pain during urination
- have acute porphyria (metabolic disorder affecting the production of heme)
- have recently travelled abroad
Use in paediatrics:
MOREASE I SACHET is not recommended for use in children (aged below 12 years). Consult your child’s doctor for advice before administering this medicine to your child.
Use in geriatrics:
MOREASE I SACHET should be used with caution in elderly patients. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Interactions
A. Drug – Drug Interactions:
Before taking MOREASE I SACHET inform to your doctor, if you are taking any of these medicines:
- insulin (used to manage diabetes mellitus)
- medicines used to manage thyroid problems (Ex. levothyroxine)
- diuretics such as furosemide, chlorothiazide (used to manage fluid retention)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of MOREASE I SACHET, drink plenty of water and consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
