INTRODUCTION ABOUT MYOSONE PLUS
MYOSONE PLUS is a combination
of Eperisone and Paracetamol which belongs to the group of medicines
called Muscle relaxants and Analgesics respectively. It is used to
manage pain due to muscle spasm.
Avoid consumption of alcohol
while taking this medicine as it may severely damage the liver. MYOSONE
PLUS should be used with caution in patients with asthma, liver disease
or disorder and kidney disease.
MYOSONE PLUS should be used with
caution in pregnant women unless advised by the doctor and it is not
recommended for use in breastfeeding women. MYOSONE PLUS is not
recommended for use in children due to lack of safety data and it should
be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above).Â
The
most common side effects of taking MYOSONE PLUS are nausea, vomiting,
stomach discomfort, abdominal pain, general discomfort and constipation.

HOW MYOSONE PLUS WORKS
MYOSONE
PLUS helps to manage pain due to muscle spasm, where eperisone works by
acting on the centres in the brain and spinal cord. It also dilates
vascular smooth muscles improving blood flow and relieves muscle spasm.
Paracetamol works by increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting COX-1
and COX-2 enzymes.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take
MYOSONE PLUS as advised by your physician. Swallow MYOSONE PLUS with a
glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will
decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age,
body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking MYOSONE PLUS
without informing your doctor.  Â
SIDE EFFECTS OF MYOSONE PLUS
COMMON
- nausea, vomiting
- loss of appetite, gastric discomfort
- abdominal pain
- diarrhea, constipation
- light-headedness, drowsiness
- lack of energy
- general discomfort
- rash, itching
- erythema multiforme exudativum (red and raised rash)
RARE
- depression, confusion, hallucinations
- tremor, headache
- disturbed vision
- oedema (abnormal accumulation of fluid under the skin)
- bleeding from stomach or intestines
- dizziness, fever
Stop taking MYOSONE PLUS and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe allergic reactions (signs include swelling of the face, lips, tongue, neck or throat causing difficulty in breathing)
- anaphylactoid symptoms (such as itchiness, edema (such as facial), respiratory distress)
- steven-johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrosis (signs include fever, erythema, bloodshot eyes)
HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Constipation
Try
to eat more high-fiber foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cereals
and drink plenty of water. Exercise regularly (such as daily walk). If
this does not help, consult your doctor for receiving alternate
management for constipation.
Diarrhea
Drink
lot of fluids such as water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated.
Do not take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhoea. Consult
your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Headache
Rest
and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes and
apply a pain-relieving balm on the forehead if necessary. Do not consume
alcohol. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Nausea And Vomiting
Take
this medicine with or immediately after food. Stick to simple meals.
Avoid eating oily, fried and spicy foods. Do not perform any strenuous
activities immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom
does not improve. Â
Stomach Pain
Try
to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and
frequent meals. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. If the symptom does
not improve, consult your doctor.

PLUS should be used with caution during pregnancy unless considered
clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking MYOSONE PLUS.
BREASTFEEDING
Contraindicated
MYOSONE
PLUS is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass
through the breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking MYOSONE PLUS.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Use with Caution
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel weakness, sleepiness, light-headedness after taking MYOSONE PLUS.
ALCOHOL
Consult your doctor
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking MYOSONE PLUS as it may severely damage the liver.
KIDNEY
Use with Caution
MYOSONE PLUS should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking MYOSONE PLUS.
LIVER
Use with Caution
MYOSONE
PLUS should be used with caution in patients with liver disorder or
disease (including Gilbert’s syndrome or hepatitis). Consult your doctor
before taking MYOSONE PLUS.
ALLERGY
Contraindicated
Do not take MYOSONE PLUS if you are allergic to Eperisone, Paracetamol or other ingredients of this medicine.
LUNGS
Use with Caution
MYOSONE PLUS should be used with caution in patients with asthma. Consult your doctor before taking MYOSONE PLUS.
OTHERS
Before taking MYOSONE PLUS, inform your doctor if you:
- are dehydrated or have impaired nutritional state (caused by alcohol abuse or wrong nutrition)
- haemolytic anaemia (abnormal breakdown of red blood cells)
- deficiency of glucose- 6-phosphatedehydrogenase enzyme
- serious infection such as blood poisoning
Use in Paediatrics:
MYOSONE PLUS is not recommended for use in children due to lack of safety data. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
