HOW NEOSPORIN OINTMENT WORKS
NEOSPORIN OINTMENT helps to manage eye infections, whereas Bacitracin is an antibacterial that works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria by managing the formation of the cell wall. Hydrocortisone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers called prostaglandins (which are responsible for pain, inflammation, and allergy). Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that works by inhibiting protein synthesis, causing cell death, and Polymyxin B is an antibacterial that works by damaging the cell membrane of bacteria (which is essential for their survival), leading to death. They effectively manage eye infections when used together.
