INTRODUCTION ABOUT R CIN 150MG TABLET

R
CIN 150MG TABLET contains Rifampicin which belongs to the group of
medicines called Antibacterial. It is used to manage bacterial
infections such as tuberculosis (affects the lungs), legionnaires
disease (lung inflammation), brucellosis (infection spreading from
animal to person), leprosy (causes skin lesions and nerve damage) and
serious staphylococcal infections.

It also manages the infections
caused by Haemophilus influenzae and Neisseria meningitides (who are
the carriers but do not show the symptoms), thereby managing and
managing the onset of flu and meningitis. The doctor may ask you to take
blood tests and liver function tests before starting management with R
CIN 150MG TABLET. R CIN 150MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you
have yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice).

Before taking R
CIN 150MG TABLET, it is recommended to inform your doctor if you have
liver, kidney problems, diabetes, are underweight or malnourished, have a
rare blood problem (porphyria), bleeding or a tendency to bruise
easily. Also, inform your doctor if symptoms of tuberculosis return or
get worse, are wearing contact lenses, are vitamin K deficient or have
hypoprothrombinemia (deficient clotting factor).

R CIN 150MG
TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. R
CIN 150MG TABLET should be used with caution in children under 2 years
of age and in elderly patients above 65 years of age. The most common
side effects seen are nausea, vomiting, chills, fever. Consult your
doctor if symptoms do not improve.

USES OF R CIN 150MG TABLET

R CIN 150MG TABLET is used to manage:

  • tuberculosis
  • leprosy
  • brucellosis
  • legionnaires
  • serious staphylococcal infections
  • infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae (causes flu) and Neisseria meningitides (causes meningitis)

HOW R CIN 150MG TABLET WORKS

R
CIN 150MG TABLET works by managing protein synthesis and interferes
with the enzymes present in the bacteria causing its death. This results
in a reduction in the count of infection-causing bacteria, thereby
managing bacterial infections.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take
R CIN 150MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine
with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It is
recommended to take R CIN 150MG TABLET on an empty stomach. Your doctor
will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age,
body weight and disease condition.

SIDE EFFECTS OF R CIN 150MG TABLET

COMMON

  • headache, dizziness
  • nausea and vomiting
  • pyrexia (fever)
  • chills
  • thrombocytopenia with or without purpura (low platelet level)

RARE

Stop taking R CIN 150MG TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following:

  • allergic reactions such as swollen face, lips, tongue, throat causing difficulty in breathing and/or swallowing
  • skin
    reactions characterized by fever, red colored circular patches on skin
    with central blisters along with skin peeling and ulcers on mouth, nose,
    throat and/or genitals, which may indicate Steven Johnson Syndrome
    and/or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis
  • severe watery, frequent loose stools and/or with presence of blood in it, along with weakness and/or fever
  • flu-
    like symptoms along with the appearance of a rash which are widespread
    in nature, increased temperature and enlarged lymph nodes which are
    characteristic of DRESS (Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic
    symptoms)
  • development of purple spots and/or bruises on skin
  • severe headache
  • bleeding from various parts such as nose, ears, gums, throat
  • tender and/or swollen stomach
  • black tar-like stools
  • loss of weight, decreased blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia), dehydration, disorientation (adrenal insufficiency)
  • pain in abdomen along with increased blood pressure and rapid abnormal heartbeat, which may indicate Porphyria
  • red
    and scaly rash which is widely spread on body with bumps under the skin
    along with fever (acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP))
  • altered amount of urine along with the presence of blood in it, feeling weak and drowsy (kidney problem)
  • dark urine along pale stools and yellowing of skin and eyes (liver problem)
  • return
    of the original symptoms and/or increase in the severity of
    pre-existing symptoms (Paradoxical Drug Reaction). ( associated with
    fever, swollen lymph nodes (lymphadenitis), breathlessness, cough,
    headaches, loss of appetite and weight loss)
  • swollen blood vessels in the skin
  • fever, chills, headache, dizziness and bone pain
  • mental problems causing a change in personality, hallucinations and odd behavior (psychotic disorder)

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Nausea and Vomiting:
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating heavily rich or spicy food. Stay
hydrated. Consult your doctor if it persists for long or worsens with
time.

Headache:

Take some rest, in a
quiet place and avoid using mobile phones and other electronic devices
for a while. Drinking water as inadequate hydration may worsen your
headache. If symptoms persist, contact your doctor.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY

R
CIN 150MG TABLETis not recommended for use in women who are pregnant
and/or planning pregnancy as it can affect the growth of your unborn
baby and may cause complications to the mother and baby after birth.

Also,
R CIN 150MG TABLET may result in the ineffectiveness of oral
contraception, hence using physical methods of contraception like
condoms and coils are recommended. Always consult your doctor before
taking R CIN 150MG TABLET.

BREASTFEEDING

R
CIN 150MG TABLET is not recommended to be taken by nursing women since
it may pass to the baby through mother’s milk. Consult your doctor
before taking R CIN 150MG TABLET.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

It
is not recommended to drive and use heavy machinery after taking R CIN
150MG TABLET as it might make you feel dizzy or faint. It is recommended
to take R CIN 150MG TABLET only after consultation with the doctor.

KIDNEY

R
CIN 150MG TABLET must be taken with caution if you are diagnosed with
any kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking R CIN 150MG
TABLET.

LIVER

R
CIN 150MG TABLET must be taken caution if you are diagnosed with any
disease of the liver. Consult your doctor before taking R CIN 150MG
TABLET.

ALLERGY

It
is not recommended to take R CIN 150MG TABLET if you are allergic to
Rifampicin and/or any other drug present in R CIN 150MG TABLET.

OTHERS

R CIN 150MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

  • have yellowish tinge to eyes and skin which may be indicative of jaundice

Before taking R CIN 150MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

  • are diagnosed with diabetes (elevated level of sugar in blood)
  • are underweight and/or malnourished
  • are diagnosed with a blood disorder called Porphyria characterized by the appearance of purple colored rash on skin
  • are prone to bleeding and/or bruising
  • wear contact lenses
  • have deficiency of Vitamin K
  • if symptoms of tuberculosis return or get worse
  • have hypoprothrombinemia (deficient clotting factor)

Use in Pediatrics:
R CIN 150MG TABLET must be taken in caution in children below 2 years
of age. Consult your doctor before taking it as they can decide the
correct and required dosage, frequency and strength of R CIN 150MG
TABLET based on age, disease condition and body weight of the child.

Use in Geriatrics:
R CIN 150MG TABLET must be taken in caution in elderly patients (above
the age of 65 years). Consult your doctor before taking R CIN 150MG
TABLET.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

Before taking R CIN 150MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

  • medicines used to manage HIV infection (Ex. saquinavir, ritonavir)
  • medicines used to manage indigestion such as antacids (Ex. aluminium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate)
  • other medicines used to manage tuberculosis (Ex. P-Aminosalicylic Acid)
  • medicines used to thin the blood (Ex. clopidrogel, warfarrin)
  • medicines used to lower cholesterol (Ex. atorvastatin, rosuvastatin)
  • medicines
    for heart problems or to control your heartbeat (Ex. atenolol,
    bisprolol), lower the blood pressure (Ex. diuretics like eplerenone)
  • medicines
    used to manage thought disorders (Ex. antipsychotics like haloperidol),
    reduce anxiety (Ex. hypnotics-lorazepam), to induce sleep (Ex.
    barbiturates-phenobarbital), manage depression (Ex. amitriptyline)
  • medicines used to manage epilepsy (Ex. phenytoin), disease of motor neurons (Ex. riluzole)
  • medicines
    used to manage various viral infections (Ex. indinavir, telaprevir,
    amprenavir, nelfinavir, atazanavir, lopinavir, neviparine, daclatasvir,
    simeprevir, sofosbuvir and telaprevir)
  • medicines used to manage
    fungal diseases (Ex. ketoconazole, clotrimazole), bacterial infections
    (Ex. amoxicillin, cephalosporin), tapeworm infections (Ex. praziquantel)
  • medicines used to lower the immune system response (Ex. ciclosporin, tacrolimus, sirolimus)
  • medicines used to manage pneumonia (Ex. atovaquone)
  • medicines used for contraception (Ex. estrogen, progestogens)
  • medicines
    used to manage cancer (Ex. imatinib, irinotecan, ethinyloestradiol,
    levonorgestrel or dydrogesterone), for breast cancer or endometriosis
    (Ex. tamoxifen, gestrinone, toremifene)
  • medicines used to manage thyroid gland problems (Ex. levothyroxine)
  • medicines
    used to manage gout and other pains (Ex. aspirin, etoricoxib, codeine,
    morphine, fentanyl, pethidine, etoricoxib, aspirin and indomethacin)
  • medicines used to manage inflammation in the body such as corticosteroids (Ex. hydrocortisone, betamethasone and prednisolone)
  • medicines used during withdrawal from heroin (Ex. methadone)
  • medicines used to manage diabetes (Ex. metformin)
  • medicines used before surgery to relax the mind and body (Ex. halothane)
  • medicines used for nausea (Ex. ondansetron, aprepitant)
  • medicines used for malaria (Ex. quinine)
  • medicines used to manage difficulty breathing and wheezing sound (Ex. theophylline)

Overdosage:

If
you or anyone else accidentally took too much of R CIN 150MG TABLET,
visit the nearby hospital or consult your doctor immediately. Signs and
symptoms of overdosage are feeling sick (nausea) along with vomiting and
pain in abdomen, increased itch (pruritus), headache and increased
lethargy, feeling of drowsiness, swelling of the face, eyes or eyelids,
fast or uneven heartbeat, dizziness, fits and heart attack.
