SPORIDEX
REDIMIX DROPS contains Cephalexin which belongs to the group of
medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage bacterial infections
of the respiratory tract (Ex. tonsillitis, pharyngitis
and bronchitis), middle ear (otitis media), skin and soft tissue, bone
and joints, reproductive organs and urinary tract (cystitis,
prostatitis).
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS can also be used to manage
dental infections. Bacterial infections are usually characterized by
fever, extreme tiredness, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, armpits,
groin or elsewhere, headache, nausea or vomiting.
Before
taking SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS, inform your doctor if you have any
kidney or liver problems, a history of severe or prolonged diarrhoea or
severe skin rash, peeling, blistering or mouth sores after taking
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS or other antibiotics. Inform your doctor if you
are due for a blood or urine test as SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS may
interfere with these tests.
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS should be used
with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women so, contact your
doctor before taking it. SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS can be used in children,
however, your doctor will decide the exact dose and duration of the
medicine for your child.
The most common side effects of taking
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, indigestion and
stomach-ache. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms are getting
worse.

SPORIDEX
REDIMIX DROPS is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that shows bactericidal
action (kills the bacteria) by inhibiting the formation of bacterial
cell wall.
How to use SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS
Take
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS as advised by your physician. Turn the bottle
upside down and tap to loosen the powder. Then add 60 ml water in two
portions, shake after each addition until all the powder is in
suspension. Shake the medicine well before use. Dose and duration will
be decided by your physician depending upon your age, body weight and
disease condition.
Side Effects Of SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS
Common

Rare
- transient hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice (yellowish discolouration of skin and eyes)
Stop taking SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- sudden wheeziness, trouble breathing, swollen eyelids, face or lips, rash or itching (particularly affecting your whole body)
- serious skin peeling or blistering
- severe diarrhoea
- acute
generalized exanthematous pustulosis (red scaly widespread rash with
bumps under the skin and blisters along with fever at the beginning of

How To Manage Side Effects
Nausea:
Take
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals.
Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. If symptom persists, contact your
doctor.
Vomiting:
Get adequate rest.
Drink lots of fluids, especially water. Have small sips if you feel
sick. Eat when you feel like it – you don’t need to eat or avoid any
specific foods. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Diarrhea:
Have enough fluids like water or fruit juice to maintain hydration. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Stomach pain:
Try
to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to eat small meals in
small breaks. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If symptom persists,
contact your doctor.
Indigestion:
Keep
your head and shoulders raised up while laying down so that stomach acid
won’t come up. Avoid tea, coffee, cola, alcohol or eating 3 to 4 hours
before going to sleep. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.

SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS should be used with caution in pregnant women. Contact your doctor before taking it.
Breastfeeding
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Contact your doctor before taking it.
Driving and Using Machines
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS should not affect your ability to drive or operate machines.
Kidney
SPORIDEX
REDIMIX DROPS should be used with caution in patients with severe
kidney diseases. Contact your doctor before taking it.
Liver
SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS should be used with caution in patients having liver impairment. Contact your doctor before taking it.
Allergy
Do
not take SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS if you are allergic to cephalexin,
other cephalosporins, penicillins or any of the other ingredients of
this medicine.
Others
Before taking SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS tell your doctor if you:
- have penicillin sensitivity
- have a history of severe or prolonged diarrhoea during or after taking SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS
- have a history of severe skin rash or peeling, blistering or mouth sores after taking SPORIDEX REDIMIX DROPS
- are due for a blood or urine test
Use in Paediatrics:
SPORIDEX
REDIMIX DROPS can be used for children, however, your doctor will
decide the exact dose and duration of the medicine. Hence, contact your
child’s doctor for advice.
Use in Geriatrics:
SPORIDEX
REDIMIX DROPS should be used with caution in elderly patients (65 years
and older), as they are more likely to have reduced kidney function.
