Introduction About TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET

TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET contains Terazosin which belongs to the group of medicines called Alpha-blockers. It is used in the management of high blood pressure and benign prostatic hyperplasia (a condition where prostate gland, by growing too big and obstructing, it can partially block the flow of urine from the bladder).

Before taking TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET consult with your doctor if you have heart problems or are planning to have a cataract removal surgery, or any kidney or liver impairment.

TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult with your doctor before taking the medicine.

TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET is not recommended in children and adolescents. TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients over 65 years of age. Consult with your doctor before taking TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET.

The most common side effects of TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET are back pain, nausea and vomiting. Consult with your doctor if the side effects gets worse.

How TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET Works

TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET relieves the symptoms of BPH by relaxing the muscles of the bladder and prostate and lowers blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily through the body.

How to use TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET

Take TERAPRESS 2MG TABLET as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.

Rare

  • urinary tract infection
  • urinary incontinence (primarily reported in postmenopausal women)

How To Manage Side Effects

Nausea or Vomiting:

Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil-rich or spicy foods. Consult with your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Constipation:

Eat plenty of fibre-rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. Consult with your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Diarrhoea:

Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

Headache:

Try a cold pad. Dim all the lights. Keep yourself hydrated. Use a heating pad or hot compress. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
