Introduction About UNWANTED TABLET

UNWANTED TABLET contains Mifepristone which belongs to the group of medicines called Abortifacients. It is used for medical termination of pregnancy. It is typically used in women who have not crossed more than 63 days from the date of last menstrual period (first day of menses of the previous month).

It can also be combined with other abortion pills or with prostaglandin therapy to facilitate the process of abortion. UNWANTED TABLET should be used under careful medical supervision. Your doctor or nurse (or any medical staff) may ask you to swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Uterine bleeding may start after 1-2 days of administration, and you may have to revisit the centre once again to ensure that termination has happened successfully.

Before taking UNWANTED TABLET inform your doctor if you have any sever liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol levels, any infections, blood clotting problems, anemia or malnutrition as a precaution.

UNWANTED TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with ectopic pregnant or in women without medical confirmation (lab tests or ultrasound) of pregnancy. In case of termination failure and if you decide to keep the pregnancy, discuss about the risks with your doctor.

The most common side effects of taking UNWANTED TABLET vaginal bleeding, uterine cramps, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, tiredness, fever, chills, prolonged bleeding after abortion or spotting, breast tenderness and fainting. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.

How UNWANTED TABLET Works

UNWANTED TABLET is an abortion pill. It works by blocking the actions of a female sex hormone called progesterone which is responsible for sustaining pregnancy. This causes shedding of the uterine layers which makes it more difficult for the foetus to implant and grow. It also increases the levels of certain chemicals (prostaglandins) in the uterus that can disrupt the uterine membranes, leading to abortion.

How to use UNWANTED TABLET

UNWANTED TABLET should be used under careful medical supervision. Your doctor or nurse (or any medical staff) may ask you to swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine before swallowing.
