Introduction About WYTROL CAPSULE
WYTROL CAPSULE is a combination of Calcitriol, Calcium Carbonate, Folic Acid, Â Methylcobalamin, and Pyridoxine which belongs to the group of medicines called Vitamin D analogues, Minerals, and B vitamins. It is used to manage, manage, or manage osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis is a condition that causes thinning and weakening of bones because of excessive absorption of calcium from the bones. It is characterized by symptoms such as bleeding gums, weak grip strength, brittle fingernails, loss of height, frequent fractures, and neck and back pain.
WYTROL CAPSULE is not recommended for use if you are allergic to calcitriol or any other metabolite of vitamin D, such as alfacalcidol and cholecalciferol. It is also not recommended for use if you have high levels of calcium in your blood, metastatic calcification (extra deposits of calcium in your body), or are not well because of high levels of vitamin D in your body.
WYTROL CAPSULE is also not recommended for use in patients with renal calculi (kidney stones) or who have a history of renal calculi. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are suffering from a liver impairment, renal impairment, or other kidney diseases.
WYTROL CAPSULE should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It should be used with caution in children (under 12 years of age) and elderly patients (aged 65 or above). Consult your doctor before taking it.
The common side effects associated with the use of WYTROL CAPSULE are constipation, nausea, and vomiting. Contact your doctor or a nearby hospital if any of the conditions worsen.

How WYTROL CAPSULE Works
WYTROL CAPSULE helps in managing bone weakening, where calcitriol plays a very important role in aiding the absorption of calcium by acting on certain gut cells to increase the production of calcium transport proteins, whereas calcium carbonate acts by directly increasing the calcium stores in the body.
Folic acid, pyridoxine, and methylcobalamin work by binding to certain bone-depleting amino acids (homocysteine), which results in the inactivation of those amino agents and an increase in bone-depositing activity in the body, thereby reversing the osteoporotic process.
How to use WYTROL CAPSULE
Take WYTROL CAPSULE as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects
Constipation
Try to eat more high-fibre foods, such as fresh fruit, vegetables, and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Try doing exercise regularly (going for a daily walk or run). If this does not help, inform your doctor about receiving alternate managements for constipation.
Nausea And Vomiting
Try to take WYTROL CAPSULE with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

- are immobilized due to operation or any other reason
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug Interactions:
Before taking WYTROL CAPSULE, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- other medicines containing vitamin D
- diuretics or water tablets (a medicine used to manage high blood pressure) Ex. bendroflumethiazide, chlortalidone, indapamide
- digoxin or digitoxin (a medicine used to manage heart diseases)
- medicines containing magnesium such as antacids (medicines used to manage indigestion) Ex. magnesium hydroxide
- laxatives (medicines used to manage constipation) Ex. bisacodyl
- corticosteroids (medicines used to manage pain and inflammation) Ex. hydrocortisone, prednisolone, dexamethasone
- medicine used to manage high levels of blood cholesterol such as ion-exchange resins Ex. cholestyramine
- phosphate (a medicine used to manage certain urinary tract infections)
B. Drug-Food Interactions:
Avoid eating food which is rich in vitamin D (dairy products like milk and cheese) or has added vitamin D while taking WYTROL CAPSULE. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of WYTROL CAPSULE, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage are loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, constipation, headache, sluggishness, drowsiness, or weakness.
