INTRODUCTION
ZOCON C contains Clotrimazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifungals. It is used in the management of fungal skin infections such as ringworm (fungal infection of the skin or scalp), athlete’s foot (fungal infection between the toes), fungal nappy rash (skin rash affecting the nappy area) and fungal sweat rash. It also relieves irritation of the vulva (external thrush) or at the end of penis, which may be associated with thrush.
Before applying ZOCON C inform your doctor about your previous existing disease conditions. ZOCON C is not recommended for use in patients who are allergic to clotrimazole. Avoid smoking or going near flames and wearing fabrics that catches fire easily due to increased risk of severe burns.
ZOCON C can be used in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Avoid using latex contraceptives (condoms or diaphragms) as this medicine may reduce the effectiveness of such contraceptives, use alternative precautions for at least five days after using the medicine. Consult your doctor immediately if you experience any unusual effects.
USES OF ZOCON C
- Manages fungal skin infections (such as ringworm, athlete’s foots, fungal nappy rash and sweat rash)
- Relieves irritation of the vulva or at the end of penis (which may be associated with thrush)
HOW ZOCON C WORKS
ZOCON C acts by specifically inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol and other sterols (enzyme) required for cell membrane production, therefore it inhibits the division and growing of fungi eventually leading to cell death, which further prevents fungal growth.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Always apply ZOCON C as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected surface before applying the medicine. Apply and rub gently a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area. Wash your hands before and after applying the medicine. Do not use ZOCON C on your face, eyes or large area. Do not use under bandages or for a long time without consulting your doctor. Your doctor will decide the duration and time interval for application depending upon the type of infection.
SIDE EFFECTS OF ZOCON C
RARE
Stop applying ZOCON C and contact your doctor immediately if you experience this side effect:
- signs of allergic reaction (includes rash, swelling of the lips, throat, tongue or face, feeling faint or dizzy, weakness, nausea and swallowing or breathing problems)
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
PREGNANCY
ZOCON C can be used during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before applying it.
BREASTFEEDING
ZOCON C can be used during breast-feeding. Consult your doctor before applying it.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
ZOCON C does not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
ALLERGY
Do not apply ZOCON C if you are allergic to Clotrimazole or any other ingredients of this medicine.
OTHERS
ZOCON C is not recommended for use if you:
- have nail or scalp infections

Safety and effectiveness of ZOCON C is not established in children. Consult child’s doctor for advice.
INTERACTIONS
Before applying ZOCON C, inform your doctor if you have recently taken or take any other medicines including non-prescription medicines and using:
- latex contraceptives (such as condoms or diaphragms) used to prevent pregnancy
Overdosage:
There is no risk of acute intoxication of topical administration. If you or anyone else accidentally ingest ZOCON C, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms include dizziness, nausea or vomiting.
