ABEL 40MG TABLET contains Azilsartan which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-hypertensives. It is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). This medicine used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.

High blood pressure (hypertension) is the force that a person’s blood exerts against the walls of their blood vessels. This pressure depends on the resistance of the blood vessels and how hard the heart has to work.

Prior to the management your doctor might want you take some blood tests to assess your condition.

Before taking ABEL 40MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have kidney, heart or liver disease, diabetes, primary hyperaldosteronism (disease of adrenal gland), aortic or mitral valve stenosis (narrowing of valves in heart, and obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (abnormal increase in the thickness of heart muscles).

How ABEL 40MG TABLET Works

ABEL 40MG TABLET helps in the management of high blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and making it easier for the heart to pump blood. Azilsartan selectively inhibits angiotensin II from binding to the angiotensin II type-1 receptor (AT1). This receptor inhibition provides the antihypertensive activity of azilsartan because it blocks the pressor effects of angiotensin II. ABEL 40MG TABLET blocks this effect which in turn lowers down the blood pressure.
